Battle Damaged Shadow Commander

bdsc_005Here’s an older commission that has yet to see a gallery. Shadow Commander was dirtied up and scarred all over using a soldering iron and heated blades. I then painted and weathered him with enamel based paints and he is pretty darn durable and is fully transformable as well.

The damage actually has a bit of a story to it as my client wanted him to look as if he was fighting the Dino-bots at some point. That explains the claw marks and rather brutish damage he has received in battle. I have to say that this figure and its armor has to be one of my most favorite figures to date and I hope to revisit him with an even heavier amount of damage and weathering, probably n my own figure just so I can keep him on my shelf.

How did you do the windshield? Is it really cracked, or is that a painted effect?

Neither lol, I did it by scratching into the plastic with a sharp exacto and once I had a few nice jagged lines I connected them to get that spiderweb effect going. I\’d practice a bit on a spare cd case before trying it again.
